Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, and professionally referred to as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female signing with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. In the month of October, Ari Lennox released her Pho EP. This was the moment that she gained recognition. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 when she released her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her own single Bound along with her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to work together with Rihanna. The announcement of her decision to sign with Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. She was featured on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. In October 21, 2016, the artist released her debut album titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer to J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she went on to be a guest on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video for it was also released on September 5th. In November, she dropped two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 2013 she dropped No One, and Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole on The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16, and then made the track available as a solo single to the album she released her debut. In February of 2019, the video music for the track debuted. It has had over 3 million YouTube views in just a single week. In December of 2018 she performed on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
